While Kathleen spent the
weekend on the Lees-McRae campus, I stayed at the Azalea Inn (about two
walking blocks from the campus). It was a great place to stay. Inn Hosts
Frank and Karen were so warm and the Inn is just beautiful. Here are
some pictures I took on Saturday after the snow had begun. I really
should have taken pictures of breakfast each morning, but believe me,
seeing the pictures would only have made you hungry. Karen and Frank
worked so well together to make everyone feel welcome and their
attention to details went a long way to make this a truly delightful
place to relax and visit.
The two rooms shown are the Azalea Room (larger with King size bed and
sitting area, complete with gas fireplace) and the Ivy Room (Queen size
bed with big cast iron tub and shower). I stayed in the Ivy Room for
this weekend and was ever so comfortable. The Inn was full most of the
weekend, so I did not get to see other rooms. But I do look forward to
seeing some of them on future visits. I hope you will enjoy the photos. |
